It's almost like abandoning, then alienating your entire existing fanbase as a developer, then engaging in some of the most anti consumer timed exclusivity practices in industry history in an already content starved game, then releasing the game with a fraction of the content it was supposed to have, then releasing a series of incredibly expensive, mandatory expansions to fix preexsting problems, only for them to introduce new problems that needed another addon to fix, and only having a workable game after a YEAR of post release content costing over 80$, then releasing the sequel which undoes EVERYTHING good about the previous game and starts the old process over again, ISN'T the best way to run a game franchise. This isn't just a Bungie issue, it's an industry issue. TL:DR: It should be easy to copy and paste but it isn't. Stop looking at players as wallets and look at them like the respectful people who are willing to spend time with your game instead of someone else's. When you put pride in your game, it shows, and people will play it. It happned to EA twice (Star Wars/Mass Effect), Bungie, and now the sacred Blizzard is getting that shit end of the stick (well deserved). They want to figure out ways to make something, monotize the shit outta it, and then when they don't make money they look like that surprised pikachu meme face. No one wants to listen to the very playerbase.
I don't get how this trend in gaming is honestly going around. I am a huge fan of the series, oddly enough, and I play it from time to time because I enjoy it in it's current state but my god are they blind to their own ambition.

Even when they started to update the game to be better, they thought about nerfing stuff because it was powerful and was fun to use. They come off as vindictive, visceral, vengeful dungeon masters that want to use players as some sort of pawn. Then Destiny 2 came along and they made the same mistakes and the game didn't get better until the Forsaken expansion came out.īungie doesn't come off as a company that wants you to have fun in this game.
It was so bad that if this was an EA Studio, Bungie would have been closed down. Destiny 1 launch was bad, really, really bad. They took no input from the community and somehow they fucked this shit up twice. Thank god they did it at the iron wolves moment or else that shit could have gotten to the rest of the body and cause real problems (despite in retrospect it is already too late).īungie somehow fucked up something so simple and I don't know why. It still takes an upwards of several moments to load up a basic inventory screen and shows no, if any, enhanced capabilities after lopping off that gangrene arm we called PS3/Xbox 360. Oh, what about the old and amazing raids? Fuck em. Shotguns? Fusion rifles? Shit, throw them all in there! Fuck yes! Instead of making a fun system, they'll just chop player choice off at the knees and let our bloody bodies crawl around because there will be no crutches for us assholes to stand on. Your sniper rifle? Oh that's gonna be a heavy slot weapon and will never live up to the rocket launchers in the game because they are just really good and no one will ever carry a good sniper with them. You want elemental primaries? Guess what, they are in a secondary "elemental" slot. Gotta change a whole bunch of shit around. All Bungie had to do is just make Destiny 2 in the same way Destiny 1 was. The Iron Wolves plotline was just great and made sure Destiny 1 went out with a nice little bang. Let's see here, all Bungie had to do is make Destiny 2 an actual continuation of Destiny 1.
